June 6, 2020 - The wine was lush and maintains the herbal qualities outlined in earlier reviews from 2017. Leathery, brambleberry, plum. I did find it a bit flat, but still very enjoyable, very smooth and super drinkable/approachable. I did not decant -- pop and pour through an aerator. The wine could go longer, but won't improve IMHO.

April 2, 2018 - Earthy characteristics have moved right up next to the red fruit and bitter chocolate. Still performing wonderfully, but in a different way. Great texture and depth. Tertiary characteristics are showing their stuff. Delicious!

December 26, 2017 - Though a little saggy in the middle, the fully resolved and assimilated primary and secondary flavors--fruit, coffee, chocolate, a little earth--with nice backing acidity make this ready for any red meat dish, and especially lovely with beef bourguignon. Drink now-2021.

October 3, 2017 - Strong showing at last night's wine group dinner. WOTN for several people. Balanced, nice texture in the mouth. Coffee and chocolate scents. Room to improve. First of four bottles from 2004 vintage. Looking forward to the others.
