December 25, 2023 - Beautiful. Still drinking well with mocha, eucalyptus or mint, a solid backbone or dark berries, well integrated tannins, cigar wrapper, and a medium to long finish. Has time left if you want but drinking well now.

February 16, 2022 - Still bright on mouth feel and color. Mild tannins almost Bordeaux-like. Did decant due to fines. Twenty years baby!

June 2, 2021 - Wonderfully earthy with a mature nose. Color was a deep garnet all the way to the edges. Deep dried cherry and blackberries with a hint of mocha and eucalyptus. One of my friends said patchouli as well. Dusty but well integrated tannins and a nice medium and smooth finish.

June 9, 2019 - Fantastic nose of black currents, blackberry, new, charred oak, fresh mint and herbs from the garden. Quite full-bodied and rich as well as dense. This has a precision to the flavors and minerality. Perfectly mature, but with a long life ahead of it, this is truly fantastic! So fresh for being so big. Black olive, currant and berry on the palate. Bright acidity as well as moderate tannins make a perfect foil for Ribeye. Drink now-2025 93

December 26, 2018 - Although the community consensus was drink by 2013, this was stored in controlled temp and humidity and was still drinking surprisingly well. Color was still dark with no bricking. Great fruit on the nose, smooth mouthfeel with well integrated tannins, less fruit on palate than nose with “medium +” complexity. Only real negative was finish was somewhat short, likely due to integration of tannins. Drink up if you’ve still got ‘em.

May 3, 2015 - Last bottle, and am I sorry. Gave it very little decanting. Tannins are perfectly integrated - very smooth, lively moth feel. Red fruit, but not bright, more like slightly desiccated and concentrated. This was a joy to drink! I guess it's on to the 2005s.

December 7, 2014 - Not as good as the last bottle. This was the last one in my cellar. I was hoping for better given my last experience. Very acidic when I first opened but definitely smoothed out - almost tart. Not as fruity as previous bottles. High alcohol content. Decent bottle.

November 26, 2014 - Very dark ruby - purple is gone but there is very little lightening towards rim. Rugged color. A good whiff of VA on the nose overpowers rich red fruits and ink. Medium bodied, there is a real richness to this wine. However, the palate is a bit disjointed with a bitter finish. There is also a green note. The VA really hurts this bottle. (75)

August 23, 2014 - Had along side a 1998 Insignia. For the price it held up really well. Drinking perfect now. Wish I had more.
