November 11, 2020 - This wow-ed me too! I dove straight in no decant and this wine drank elegantly and firm through the whole bottle. One of the most balanced expressions I have had. A tiny tad foward by way of dark cherry and current notes alongside a most welcome dry dark soil notes. Definite terroir and a complex nose. Some floral points, I am thinking honeysuckle and maybe violet. I really bought the "coconut and cardamom" descriptor I read about, and the tinge of "nutmeg" was out there too. A vast array of very subtle flavors here, bolder notes being maybe cedar and clove/cola hits in the bitter chocolate on the mid-palate. But don't mistake this for flabby fruit bomb, this wine drinks firmly all the way through, delicate - a nice long finish that stays quite tight. Most attractive, not quite feminine, a touch of forrest floor.

February 9, 2020 - Double decanted 4 bottles which all threw significant sediment and brought to my mother’s 90th birthday party for 40 people. Translucent medium garnet with a bright center and modestly bricked rim. Nice earthy nose with sous bois, leather, chocolate and red fruit, strong ripe cherry while decanting. Palate shows a little age but has good acidity and velvety soft mouth feel. Cherry, chocolate and leather are most prominent through a long layered finish. This is late in its maturity curve for sure but is showing a good bit of character and soulfulness. Some of the guests loved this and frankly it did get better late in the party after getting even more air. Raised score from 91 to 92

February 2, 2018 - I found this in my cellar. I know I didn't buy it because I don't recognize the source store. But, whoever gave it to me, thanks!!!

Beautiful wine, with aromas of dried sour cherry, cedar, spice, leather and tar. Excellent balance, with most of the tannins gone, and ++ acidity. Finish is long and lingering. To my palate, this is peaking now.

May 25, 2014 - Evolved and hitting its peak at this point. Dark gripping red and black fruit, wet earth, tar, smoke. Drink now.

October 24, 2011 - Pleasant, sangiovese. medium bodied, some fruit but more leather, cedar and coffee, which is fine with me. I'm not one who has to have lots of fruit in older wine. Smooth even the next day. probably peaked at around 3 hours after opening.
