August 5, 2020 - Popped and poured. Nose quite charming with dark fruits, smokiness and gamey undertones. The palate is cassis complemented by earthy notes. Tannins are completely integrated. Enjoyable now.

July 11, 2020 - All the good stuff; in a great spot at 20yrs. Did not disappoint.

June 15, 2020 - I understand why some of the tasting notes consider this a "modern" style Bordeaux, but I found its toasty nose, judicious fruit, and earthy finish a pleasant change from several disappointing 2000 Bordeaux. Still vigorous and young, I anticipate that this wine's complexity and balance will allow it to age into something wonderful during the next 5 to 10 years.

June 13, 2020 - Bordeaux Horizontal – 2000 vintage with Jane Anson (Zoom!): 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. Really dark colour. More darkness on the nose - coffee, graphite and just a hint of game - super classic. Dark chocolate and burnt ends on the palate, but tannins are pretty soft. Completely ready. Would be brilliant with a steak.

Rockss and Fruit

(Cos d'Estournel) Cocoa, raspberry liquor and complex mineral tones on the nose. Lush and glyceril with dense, silky primary fruit. Black fruits with a red streak. Pretty elegant and does a little mambo on the palate. Super concentrated but done in a kind of "spoofilated" new-world style. Very different and less traditional than the '95 Cos the other week. I still liked it
