    January 28, 2019 - I TRE TENORI (WESTIN MILANO): Naso fotonico, esplosivo, ma precisissimo, davvero millimetrico. Tanta spezia del Cabernet, pepe, grafite, molto frutto del Merlot e tanta tanta eleganza. Da starci ore, godendo la bellezza di un millesimo setoso, pieno e maturo.
    La bocca è di corpo, ma piuttosto filante, tutto al posto giusto e in attesa della fine di un' adolescenza che durerà ancora almeno un decennio.
    Fattura da manuale, ma privo dell' anima dei grandi vecchi Bordeaux e dell' emozione che regala De Montille

    December 25, 2018 - Drank with a hardy roasted beef Christmas dinner and have to agree with cephomer, this wine has the sent of a nice firm Bordeaux, but not the follow through flavors. Pleasant enough to drink but certainly a disappointment from this vintner.

    December 11, 2018 - Decanted briefly at Manhatta at partner dinner last nite. I've had this wine before and found it disappointing. Alas, the same result this time around. I just don't understand the ratings I'm seeing for this wine here on CT.
    A lovely, generous nose, with aromas of leather, black fruits, cassis and pencil shavings. On the palate, medium bodied and tending toward a soft elegance. There's some fruit, the tannins are mostly resolved but I find the wine quite short and just nothing special, lacking in charm or power. I wish the wine tasted as good as the wine smells from the decanter.

    December 1, 2018 - Turn of the Century Bordeaux vs. Napa Tasting; 12/1/2018-12/2/2018: Double decant for 3 hours, initially in the glass there was some real funk that threw people off. Luckily that blew off and this showed really well. Initial decant had a lot of pencil shavings and pine tree, needed time to open up. 3rd place out of 6 in an amazing lineup although 3 people (out of 7) chose this as their WOTN. Beautifully mature Cos.

    November 10, 2018 - Reviews say this wine is on a fast-track to maturity but I didn't find that. Fruit is vibrant w/ plum, black currant, cassis, anise and spice. Sweet, well integrated tannins, elegant and polished. An hour in the decanter and could have used another 1 -2 hours and capable for 3+ years of more bottle age. Fantastic

    October 27, 2018 - This was served blind against 2000 Leoville Barton and 2000 Gauby Muntada. It beat a perhaps dumb-phased Leoville hands down, but was edged out of first place by the sheer hedonism of the richly-fruited Muntada.

    The Cos took some grappling with - clearly a huge and complex wine, meaty and brooding with no real fruit yet. However, I finished the bottle nine days later and it was singing beautifully. A very fine wine indeed. I'll wait at least another three years before opening one of my remaining two bottles in the hope that its full potential will have emerged by then.
