February 19, 2023 - I put this wine in a decanter to avoid deposit. However, the wine was cloudy. This didn't affect the smell or taste, fortunately. Typical sangiovese nose of red fruit, spices, dark fruit and some oak. Everything nicely balanced. Tannins have softened. Good length and freshness. This is drinking very well right now. Great with tagliata di manzo.

January 28, 2023 - The nose full of flavours: cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, herbs and liquorice. Also the palate packed with flavours mainly cherry with a sweet core, minerals, lively acidity, tannins present but well integrated. Elegant and multi-layered structure, savoury finish.
Absolutely stunning CCR, so fresh, Clean, pure and lively with wonderful aromas. One of the best CCRs I ever had!
Unfortunately my last bottle, but the '15 "Il Poggiale" is still waiting in my cellar. Can this be even better?1 person found this helpful Comment -

December 9, 2021 - Nice CCR, in a great spot: mature cherry, prune, soft coffee, leather, plum, dried red fruit, beautiful Chianti acidity taking me back to the visit to the winery, medium body, dry long finish.

November 19, 2019 - Needs air. Let it swirling in the glass and you'll get very nice flavors of red cherry with sweet core, various red and some black fruit with a bit of herbs, earth, slight tobacco.
On the palate quite soft entry but then fresh with crisp acidity, mineral note and again cherry.
The aftertaste is long and here the tannins are a bit demanding and drying your mouth almost out.
Needs further cellaring but good value and it is reflecting the typical Castellare-style. -

November 8, 2019 - Gorgeously feminine white chocolate, sandalwood, star anise, herb and liquorice nose. Packed with flavour and refined elegance, with balanced acidity and a sweet and gently savoury tannin finish, this is an alluring, deeply satisfying and exotic expression of Sangiovese. Stunning value. 93
