November 18, 2018 - Fragrant with cherry, twigs, smoke, plum and dried flowers. Lively on the palate with juicy fruit and a great acid spine. Barely there tannin but they do there job. Pleasure to drink.

August 6, 2018 - Orange Trip (Day 1) (Orange, New South Wales, Australia): The appearance is clear and pale ruby in colour. Tears are visible.

The nose is clean. The aromas have a medium(+) intensity showing notes of oak and deliberate oxidation (charred wood, caramel, burnt toffee), and red fruit (red cherry, strawberry). The wine is developing.

On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol, and medium body. The medium(-) tannins are ripe and dusty in nature. The flavours have a medium(+) intensity and show notes of red fruit (red cherry, strawberry) and deliberate oxidation (toffee). Additional flavours show on the finish: a herbaceous character (rose hip) and a red fruit note (red plum). The finish had a medium length.

This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have a great balance with the acidity and the alcohol. The dusty tannins have a good balance with the acidity. The oak treatment supports the fruit expression, with the toffee note adding an additional layer of complexity. In its current state, the wine shows primary, secondary, and some tertiary characteristics, is very enjoyable, and has a finish with good length.

The wine drinks well now, but has potential for ageing. The fruit concentration is great, and the tannin and acid structure should support the wine as tertiary notes continue to develop.
