February 2, 2024 - BYOB dinner and then some; 2/1/2024-2/2/2024 (Avalon, Amsterdam): [Tasted blind] Unmistakably Northern Rhone Syrah with the pepper (now I did get it!), meaty, bacon, olives, black fruit. Medium+ acidity, high tannins, medium+ finish. Will benefit from 5-7 years of cellaring

Unknown producer for me, worth seeking out

December 20, 2020 - Somewhat average on night 1, but began to really blossom on night 2. Last glass was the best one.

Medium to dark ruby. Nose smells liked baked blueberries; touch of vanilla. Body is medium. I'm getting more purple and blue fruit on the palate - fresh blueberries again. Finishes with a nice bolt of acidity. Re-visting after a couple hours of slow ox; pretty open and very approachable right now.

Showed ok on night 1, you could say it was showing some elegance if you wanted to be generous, but I thought, overall, nothing special. Showing some serious good vibes potential on night 2.

February 10, 2019 - Deep ruby in color, right off the bat you find truffle, flowers, spice, pepper, vanilla accents and herbs. From there you discover a medium bodied, polished, refined, sensuously textured wine with pure cherries and a hint of licorice. With tannins waiting to be resolved, give this beauty 5-7 years in the cellar and this really be a knockout!
