December 18, 2010 - A nice ruby coloring. Opened and poured without decanting which was a mistake! The inital flavor profile was of subdied red fruit buried beneath astringent tannins. However, starting about 30 minutes in the glass the tannins began dropping leaving a nice profile of cherries, raspberry, licorice and mint in a smooth wine that had lots of backbone. Contrary to other notes, this wine still has a couple of years left, at least, making it a prime example of the 7 year rule. Very nice bottle with a pork roast.
