Community Tasting Notes 37

January 27, 2017 - It smells like totally vibrant apples. Very surprisingly decent. Really rich, dense palate, and pretty darn smooth and nice. Kind of soft tannins, and a little nastiness on the finish. But overall pretty impressively balanced for a zin of this age. It's better than it was on release.

March 8, 2016 - We forgot about this bottle until rearranging cellar. Worried about it going downhill but was pleasantly surprised. It started out hot and smoky but mellowed and tasted bold like a bold dry creek zin and we drank over 2 days- and it just got better.

May 12, 2012 - My last 2005, and possibly the best. Classic Cali zin.

December 17, 2011 - This has held up surprisingly well for its age. Still drinking well, but likely in its decline.

June 23, 2011 - See prior notes. I would only add that it is drinking great about 4 days after opening, vacu-vinned and kept in the fridge.
