August 23, 2019 - This is pretty damn near close to a perfect wine. So balanced and velvety, but also endowed with a substantial amount of power. Raspberries, peat, dried mint, roses. I could just smell this all night, forget drinking it!

April 22, 2019 - Bottle 3456. Bright ruby color with slightly muted Giacosa perfume aromas. This bottle was very tight after a 45 minute decant and continued to open up in the decanter and glasses. Loved it!

February 26, 2019 - Loaded with red fruits that have a jube-like quality. There's plenty of rose petal action and a hint of tar. With air you get truffle and bitter chocolate. It is plump, full and fleshy, with relatively low acidity but enough chew from the tannins to keep everything fresh. Like all great Giacosa wines, this is all about the perfume, and how it draws you in with every sniff.

March 10, 2018 - Ruby. Bright red berry, tobacco, rose, and menthol all exude effortlessly from the glass. Still a grip to the tannic but light-bodied structure, fresh acidity, killer concentration. Nothing about this wine — elegant, above all — speaks to the hot 2000 vintage. A very pleasant surprise indeed. (Bottle number 0092)

March 3, 2018 - Red fruits. Great balance. Nice fruit on palate. Soft. DelicioUs for drinking now, but has a few years left.
