March 8, 2020 - Over the hill, raisiny.
December 17, 2018 - Bottle had turned.
April 27, 2016 - Sadly, this bottle was FLAWED.
January 18, 2015 - Pulled the cork, purplish brown & synthetic. Couldn't distinguish whether the cork smelled like grapes or chocolate, probably both. The nose on this wine was massive, what a baller this wine is!! Plenty of chocolate covered cherries, with a distinct aroma of licorice, that pulled you in, anticipating the taste. On the palate, I marveled at the extraordinary complexity this wine displayed. An enormous amount of chocolate & and cherries, with berries and licorice resting on a full blown finish, that went on for at least 30 seconds. This wine kicked my butt, making me feel as though I had just taken a hit from a numming drug. Later I looked at the ABV, which was 16.4%, that was never encountered on the nose, nor the palate, letting me know this wine was perfectly integrated, and still has plenty of life. I highly recommend this wine. 96+
P.S. Anyone want to sell a couple of bottles?
September 6, 2013 - Lovely wine despite the off-putting plastic cork - deep purple, rich, ripe fruit, nicely integrated tannin.
March 22, 2013 - From Magnum (no rubber cork here). It opened up within 30 minutes. Loads of white pepper, but not so much as to harm the overall package. Nearly jammy blackberries. Some sweet Oak and black currant.
June 30, 2011 - Paint thinner.
May 3, 2011 - Sampled 4/29/11. Damn purple rubber corks. Wine was oxidized and nothing but prunes, raisins and alcohol.
June 5, 2010 - Sampled 4/3/10. Much better than I thought it would be. Huge overripe black fruits, a little Asian spice, a pretty smooth wine but the tannins have solid structure. A very long finish that impresses. Just the right amount of toasted vanilla Oak. Lovely. Drink over the next decade.
May 14, 2010 - From a 750 with a purple synthetic cork. Acetone nose, another B&H disaster. Quite a contrast to the same wine consumed just 1 week ago which was fabulous from magnum with a real cork.
