June 17, 2019 - My last bottle of this, and in line with my note of previous year
March 23, 2019 - Medium-high intensity nose offers ripe red cherry and spice, with leather and sour cherry hints, all surrounded by a savoury, earthy, forest floor core. It is medium-bodied with juicy acids and gritty tannins that will reward with some ageing. Nicely savoury with earthy, forest floor, red and black cherry, and oak spice flavours. Very good finish length. Really starts to shine as it warms in the glass. Enjoy over the next 6 years.
February 4, 2019 - No formal note, a simple chianti that is pleasant enough to drink, with a stronger fruit forward presence and a fairly well balanced mouthfeel.
September 15, 2018 - Solid taste. Easy to drink
June 15, 2018 - See the note of Wine Strategies below. I concur. A beautiful terroir driven wine, not high end by any means but providing tons of drinking pleasure. More or less the house wine here for the moment.
August 25, 2017 - Whomever said that simple pleasures are the best was probably drinking a Giacomo Mori Chianti. Just three grapes, some time in (bigger, mostly), older wood vessels, a few months in the bottle prior to release, and there you have it, a highly classic, medium-bodied, red fruited wine that speaks of place at every turn - bright cherry fruit, dusty, scorched earth, notes of leather, herbs and pipe tobacco. Flavors/descriptors aside, it's the balance that's key here, and in this vintage the components keenly feature the juicier side of Sangiovese while keeping this fresh, lifted, and, for what it is, pretty. A case (or two) purchase is likely in my future. Such a (simple) joy. recommended+
