January 17, 2022 - Deep and rich. Good underlying energy given the complexity and the vintage.
July 21, 2021 - Perfect bottle. Deep golden fruit nose with funk and umami notes. Long finish, lingering for minutes
November 24, 2020 - Lighter profile and yet good complexity. Great range of palate notes here.
June 30, 2018 - Zachys BYO Montrachet & Musigny Lunch in Burgundy (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): No longer particularly interesting. Nowhere near the quality of a magnum tasted a few years ago.
October 13, 2016 - Light funk on the nose with herbal and yellow fruit notes. Lean and acidic palate
February 28, 2015 - La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. From magnum. Dark color. Slightly perplexing wine that was a little musty to start, but with lush and extravagant fruit that combined with marzipan, flowers and spice. Big and powerful, very tasty.
January 28, 2010 - Montrachet-tasting at De Leest (**) (Vaassen, The Netherlands): The only reason I award this wine "only" 99 points is that we had so many other bottles worth 100 points. As one participant said: "these wines ask for a new scale".
July 28, 2005 - Tasted at annual DBGCBU lunch: Initially very restrained nose which opened beautifully over time. Very subtle, full of mineral stonelike qualities far too complex for me to be able to describe. This was unlike any wine I've had before, it seemed to unlock another dimension in flavour leaving an astounding array of tastes which seemed to last forever. This wine shows why the vineyard has no peer. Extremely youthful and bright, should last for a good while yet. Could be off the scale given a bit more time. Magnificent stuff.l
