November 12, 2022 - 2 hr pre-decant followed by decadent local resto pairings across courses and numerous dishes. Nose of cedar and cigar box, whiffs of blackberry mocha, taste of black currants, smokey graphite, dark chocolate, spice. Muscular yet elegant and deftly well balanced for complexity. No formal TN but clearly a hit with the table.

October 28, 2022 - Quick 30 min decant at BOA steakhouse. I’m clearly in the minority hear but I think the flagship might be consistently better than the SVDs. Exceptional wine firing on all cylinders right now. Have one bottle left, will let it sleep for 5 years to see what happens.

October 15, 2022 - Spectacular aromas of red cherries, raspberries, graphite and licorice. Some coffee on the palate, spice, blackberries and dark chocolate. Love this wine! 20-second finish is carried by silky tannins.

June 21, 2022 - Lovely wine of balance and elegance. Everything in proportion. Very drinkable now. Consistently my favorite style of wine from the great producer and hospitable team.

January 28, 2022 - Head to head vs 2015 Arkenstone Estate and the MM was the clear winner. Quick 30 min decant and was singing right off the bat. That said, no rush whatsoever to drink now. Just a joy, drink or hold.

October 8, 2021 - Taken to our monthly CWG Blind Tasting. I stick the Coravine needle 36 hours before “show time” and kept upright inside the cellar, then opened 6 hours prior, and finally a quick double decant (15 min) 1.5 hours before….

Everyone at the table guessed Napa Cabernet around 2005. They might have been influenced by my track history of taking mature wines all the time but I believe the slow oxidation did the trick.

The wine is bold, dark, super complex and endless finish. I have another bottle which will consume at the other side of the long uphill future for this wine…

97+ Drink with lots of air or HOLD!

August 8, 2021 - we like the 2013 only slightly better
this was both sweet and bitter- with a hint of maple, metal, cigar box, and clove with smooth tannins and and an exquisite finish
