June 27, 2023 - In the glass, medium gold with a slight copper tint. On the nose, tropical fruits and yeast. On the palate, somewhere between medium and full bodied, with lemon, baked bread, currants, and lavender well balanced in the mix, and moderate acidity for a crisp but not biting finish.

December 23, 2022 - Floral and chalky nose.

Very precise palate, laser cut, with notes of jasmine and white fruits. Citrus fruits develop immediately after in the second curtain with a chalk that will gain in scale. The juice is massive but very fresh and precise. Nice saline and chalky finish.

    An excellent champagne.

January 7, 2021 - Litigators' Wine Dinner (East Treasure, Clarke Quay, Singapore): This was very enjoyable - definitely more opened and developed than 2 years ago. The nose had a characterful melange of yeast and mineral undergirding light, dancing notes of white fruit and citrus zest, maybe a sweeter touch of cherry flesh around the edges. The palate was even nicer. Fine mousse, nicely citrus acidty, and then round notes of juicy berry flesh lined with a lovely minerality, all this leading into a nice lemon zest finish. Not the most complex, but certainly not simple either. This was delightful in the way that the best 2008s are - sleek, polished, defined, yet wonderful open and delicious.

December 31, 2020 - This shows some maturity, it is quite open and shows its dark aromas in a harmonious frame.

August 7, 2020 - Drunk out of Zalto champagne glass. With a little air this shows earthy bread aromas and, finally, the weightless creamy mouthfeel that previous vintages (2005 and 2006) had. Maybe it due to the glass, used here for the first time. Notes of caramel in the finish, though the dosage is only 3g/l. Texture is wonderful.

January 18, 2020 - A pretty open wine. Some citrus on the note with a lot more citrus on the palate. Some big round fruit in the mid palate. Some brioche on the finish. A broad rather than a precise wine, not really my preference in champagne. In fairness, not the best vintage.

January 5, 2019 - With this second bottle, I think I begin to understand this wine in this vintage. On the second day, in a Zalto universal glass, it showed more freshness than on the first and came close to the weightlessness of the 2005 and 2006. It has, however, a sort of dark and intense undertone which the other vintages didn't have, either because of the vintage or because of some slight change to the winemaking. As I see it, this one is simply young and needs more bottle-age, after which it might turn out to be a more serious wine than the previous vintages.

December 19, 2018 - Needed two hours to evolve. The start was closed, maybe too cold served, metallic and edgy. But then some gingerbread, nuts and lime in the finish. next bottle in 3-5 years. 91-92

July 8, 2018 - This seems to be sligthly different from the 2005 and 2006 at a comparable age. The 2008 has fresh green and mineral notes, a big taste with umami and lots of acidity, and vigourous mousse. The weightlessness only appears when drunk out of a Zalto universal glass (instead of the usual Riedel vinum champagne glass). Seems simply to be young and needing some bottle age.
