September 19, 2022 - Similar to my previous note, but smokier and more savoury - very much an autumnal wine. This was fantastic with game, and while the fruit has longevity, there are already so many tertiary elements, which, when combined with very faint tannins, means this should be drunk rather soon. A marvellous surprise with how good these turned out.

June 26, 2022 - I'm not sure if I'm being too generous with my rating because at face value this is a very good, but straightforward wine. And yet it isn't. Definitely the softer side of the dark red fruit spectrum - spiced cherries and plums. Then the interesting bits reveal themselves. Subtle smokiness, moving into incense, with flashes of anise-like herbs. At times it gives the fruit a pleasant medicinal halo, other times it actually peers out in a rather profound way. Yet, texturally, this is rather simple - fruit led, soft tannins - and linear. I still found something surprising and memorable about this bottle - it will be delicious with game. Not sure how long to keep these, but 2 years seems like a reasonable upper limit.
