August 27, 2019 - Restaurant purchase so only a quick decant before drinking. Haven’t had many Yarra cab blends to compare against but I enjoyed the weight of this. Much too young and not enough air to get a good feel for it. Pedigree is obvious, though the ‘14 Yeringberg Shiraz next to it was much more approachable at this point.

    Underwhelmed!!

Yeringberg 2013 was by far my Bordeaux blend of the year last year and I went long on purchasing.. So after so many glowing reviews of the 15 I bought a few before potentially going long again but I'm disappointed.. There is a heat and acid issue for me.. I see the potential lurking behind these flaws and am hoping time will help...

I have done some digging and have found Gary Walsh TWF had similar issues with the 13 around the same time from release which is interesting. Hopefully history repeats on this vintage but it's a hold on buying more for me for now...

February 9, 2019 - A beautiful floral bouquet on the nose accompanied by red berries, cedar, spring grass and wild herbs. Red and black currants, sour cherries, tobacco, cedar and some bay leaf and vanilla elements. Silky and only medium bodied. Beautifully weighted and quite delicate despite its formidable structure. Super fine tannins and a very long and persistent finish. A beautiful wine in every sense. Top shelf Australian Bordeaux blend. Will age for many years.

April 10, 2018 - Yeringberg masterclass with Sandra de Pury (wine ark alexandria): Slightly dusty, earthy, blackcurrant, pencil shavings, sweet spice, a little biscuit and violet. In the mouth it's juicy with massively drying, thought not at all coarsely textured, tannins, black hued fruits. Very tight, young and finishes with a little alcohol heat. Lots of time required.
