September 16, 2017 - I was really hoping my experience would surpass the previous note written in 2016. However, after 2 hours of decanting, this wine is definitely past its prime. Even with perfect cellaring and a perfect cork. Its not bad, mind you, but the fruit has pretty much faded. Still very smooth, nicely structured and retaining its 14.3% alcohol, I enjoyed it with a Chipotle hanger steak.
February 13, 2016 - Past its prime, but still a fun one none the less. A bit dusty and soft but still there
August 24, 2014 - Blueberry and anise. Through the nose and pallet. Banana and red fruit. Leather and plum. Wonderful structure and balance.
August 17, 2014 - Sat on this bottle for quite some time... Based on prior comments decanted for about 2 hrs... Very easy drinking with good flavor

July 2, 2013 - Yummy. Had with braised lamb shanks. Well balanced; cherry tobacco, leather, cedar.
March 16, 2013 - opened poured half into a 375 vacuumed for later. 3 hours later nose was a little hot and the first taste was Cherry peppers. poured a glass through an aerator flattened it a little. would be better with a little chill on. Drinkable but not looking forward to my 2 remaining bottles
February 22, 2013 - nice on entry: anise, dark fruits and some plum. Tobacco on long finish. Had with strip steak
January 23, 2013 - An excellent, quaffable, wonderful wine. There is nothing too profound or intellectual about this, it is simply a joy to drink and share with unpretentious company. Think Mozart. Soft tannins, medium to long finish, great fruit . . .
