Community Tasting Notes 5

August 2, 2022 - Pleasant raspberry red fruit characterized this wine. It has a little too much tartness in both the flavor and the finish for our palates.

June 28, 2022 - This wine was better than the 13. Probably because it was younger better fruit and acid balance. Be careful of the foil. It’s sharp.

July 17, 2020 - Opened for about an hour and then decanted before drinking. This bottle of wine started out good but improved with food. Big dark cherry fruit, yes, there is oak, but not over extracted, just a good oak backbone that is nicely balanced with the fruit, a solid earth, spice and acid. I think this is a excellent representation of Panther Creek wines.

March 1, 2020 - Agree with some of the previous notes. The fruit in this wine seems to be heavily masked by smoky notes and a oak barrels. I think they just overdid this wine. Maybe too much extraction too? Clipped finish. Seems like there is plenty of good raw ingredients here just struggling to overcome a winemaker that was trying too hard. A gentler touch could have vastly improved this wine.

    June 9, 2018 - 35% new French oak, 8 months

    Smoke and cherry nose
Long gentle acidity, raspberry and coffee, broad tannins, a little on the heavy side, pepper on top
