October 8, 2013 - Very enjoyable wine at good maturity. Tasted blind, but not an easy bottle to get right away. I got it right in the end thanks to the typical port-like aromas on the nose, but I have to admit that I guessed both Priorat and Sardinia before getting to the Douro valley.
So what do you get? Dark fruit, chocolate and coffee in combination with a finish of fleshy yet fresh fruit. The wine also has a wonderful earthiness to it. Both the high alcohol (14.5%) and tannins are beautifully integrated.
The wine probably benefitted from being served at 16-17 degrees celsius, which I believe is quite ideal.

March 7, 2009 - wine-pages.com SuperBOWL 2009 (Glasgow): A lovely attractive nose: plums, black fruits, violets. Yum. Very approachable and very interesting on the palate. Lots of very interesting character with a delicious juicy edge. Firms tannins on the finish contribute to a feeling that this is likely to improve over the next five years.
