February 23, 2019 - Winebar [4 Whts & 8 Reds] from 02/22/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 100% Riesling, mostly ungrafted, planted in red-brown earth over clay with broken bluestone subsoil; Fermented in s/s tanks for 25 days @ 52-59 °F; 11.5% ABV

N: Lemons, poss apples, with notes of minerals

P: Med body; VERY RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (suspect threshold R.S.) met by a potent acidity (& a TOUCH of spritz?) which defines the wine through the LONG, TANGY/swt (80:20) finish. While certainly drinking well now, I'd imagine this will evolve nicely over the next 4 or 5 yrs min. Nonetheless, one probably SHOULD be a fan of high acidity to truly enjoy this wine. My EXC-, poss EXC-/EXC over time. 96 pts James Halliday, 93 ea Decanter's Panel & The Wine Front, and 90 WA. [This vendor's $21.95 puts it in the bottom of the TOP 1/2 of wine-searcher's limited entries.]

October 14, 2018 - Young Clare Riesling is always good on a warm day. Really aromatic with lime leaf, citrus and green apple. Much the same on the palate but with zippy, mouthwatering acid. Good length too.

September 3, 2018 - Fresh and zippy with lemon, lime, citrus blossom and lemon cordial. Plenty of acid but it’s clean and balanced.

May 12, 2018 - Well balanced. Not reisling sweet. Nose of limes. Very clean. Slight tingling acid that is more like small bubbles but there is no bubbles but still smooth. Very nice drop. Actually not as sweet as the 2017 villa Maria sav Blanc which seems sweeter than previous years. Will buy a 2 doz or so and keep for a few years. Would be great with some oysters or prawns on a balmy summer day. Should be good for 5 yrs.

February 7, 2018 - Riesling Riot 2018: Floral and perfumed nose with lime, orange and smoke - really quite pretty nose already. Really good length on the palate, the fruit balancing well with the youthful acid. Will leave my bottles to have a lengthy stint in the cellar before I look at them again.
