April 25, 2020 - Spice starts off the taste profile with black fruit and earth following quickly behind. There is a touch of leather mid pallet, a velvety mouthfeel and a nice long finish. Our bottle was opened about an hour before tasting, decanted and really hitting its stride second glass about 2 1/2 hours after being opened.

November 9, 2018 - Solid right bank CA blend from DAOU. Surprisingly very easy to drink Cab Franc/Merlot blend that paired really well with our grilled Mahi, Sautéed Clams, and vegetarian Quinoa. 3 hour decant (1.5 hours too long IMO) with a slight chill but I'd recommend no more than a 1.5 hour decant for this bottle, but I wanted to really tone down any oak/spices and ripe fruits because of the dishes we were having at the restaurant.

From the Eyes: Medium+ to Deep ruby color/concentration with light ruby to watery rim variation; Med+ viscosity, medium staining on the tears, no visible sediment.

On the Nose: Baking spices, red fruit, red/blue plum. (Simple)

On the Palate: Med to medium minus body, spices, with more black fruit showing up than red (observed on the nose). Tannins were soft with a higher acid profile that made this red drink really well with lighter dishes. Not a complex wine and the finish was quick! Med alcohol....not an in your face bottle at all. Enjoy~
