September 10, 2022 - Soft, light and fine.

February 19, 2022 - My favourite NZ Pinot. Don't drink this too cold.

April 17, 2021 - Light ruby wine, aromas of raisin, currant and rhubarb. Hint of gooseberry on the palette to begin with, then dominated by black and red plums, dark chocolate, strawberry and rhubarb. A long finish with bold tannins balanced by good acidity.

June 26, 2020 - Gave this a pretty good score at the time and yet to revisit. The Amisfield Pinot Noir 2017 has an intriguing nose - think a good cognac with a ripe fruity twist. Fragrant to the point you can spend time just sniffing it and be content, without even taking a sip. When you finally taste, the front comes with a smooth but notably acidic fruit punch. The middle and finish, while smooth, are on the leaner side and perhaps end a bit too soon for my liking. Now, the fascinating part - this wine seems to shift gears as it oxidises in the glass. A different dimension appears, the nose intensifies, and you're left wanting to explore further. It's not just the fruitiness but an underlying earthiness which provides an extra layer of depth. This Pinot Noir is a bit of a curiosity, and I'll likely revisit it to fully unravel its character.

March 30, 2020 - Dinner at home, 2 months self-quarantine and counting. Medium ruby color. Lush aroma of perfumed red fruits, vanilla and taut oak. Dry, high acidity, medium tannins, medium taste of ripe cherry, strawberry, vanilla. Medium finish. Medium light body. Elegant and restrained balance. Good stuff aided by great nose. EDIT: Absolutely beautiful with increased intensity on second night.
