March 4, 2023 - Supps at KC's (KC's place): This was an exceedingly pleasant surprise with confit shoulder of lamb and pommes anna - lots of fresh blackcurrant fruit with a lack of caramel backed by a touch of sous bois, leather and earth - the latter three attributes grew with time...on the palate it was juicy, fleshy, rocky mineral tannins...leathery and earthy tertiary notes grew with time on the palate as well. Pretty good all things considered (price point/age)
May 6, 2022 - From Coravin. Brambles and leafy quality; very copse of trees in Autumn with blackberry bushes, a little countryside. A little graphite and pencil shavings with time. Softly engaging and quite sweetly fruited brambles and red berries backed by capsicum and a leathery, meaty quality. Tannins are near resolved. Nice.
December 23, 2020 - Popped and poured...Very much the mature Bordeaux...all dark fruits, leather, earth, autumn leaves, a little tobacco and cigar box and a touch of rusticity on the nose translates to the palate with juicy acidity (which is probably assisted by a smidge of volatility) and still moderately grippy tannins. Better than previous bottlings...
June 19, 2020 - Coravin fun - new arrivals (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Sweet spice warm red over blackberry, a little red currant, leather, biscuit, earth, pristine cork. Juicy savoury red over blackberry, the red currant lends a touch of fleshy freshness, tannins are subdued. Hmm, not very well balanced.
June 18, 2020 - From Coravin. Impressively Corked!
January 23, 2015 - Daylesford Weekend (day 1) (The Wood Store, Daylesford): Past its best, slightly sharp, sherry notes. With roast chicken, mashed potato, various greens.
January 26, 2014 - Délicieusement épanoui, excellent.
November 23, 2012 - still delicious
August 30, 2011 - wow--best $20/bottle case I ever bought. Still delicious.
May 19, 2009 - Still nice, some fruit and nose, softer than earlier. A little brown around the edges. More like a Merlot. We've got 8 bottles--don't need to polish them all off just yet.
