December 31, 2020 - Colour: garnet, with a hint of brick red
Nose: plum, redcurrant, cherry, strawberry. Maybe cassis. Tobacco leaf, maybe cigar box, but there's not much/no oak character. Gooseberry, nightshade leaf, bergamot. Maybe chacuterie and green peppercorn.
Palate: plush but fresh and lithe red fruit: cherry, strawberry, and also plum. Touch of cassis? Tobacco leaf, maybe cigar box, but (as on the nose) not much/no oak really. Gooseberry, nightshade leaf, bergamot. Gaining that lovely savoury character that Bordeaux can with a bit of age. Chacuterie? Forest floor? Lithe, fresh, berry like acidity; fine-grained, sandpapery, drying tannins, quite structural. Drinking beautifully. This is quite a reserved wine, but gives you everything you'd expect from a good every-day Bordeaux with a bit of age; drinkable, savoury, complex, but more medium bodied than full bodied. 14% alcohol. Seal: screwcap.

September 22, 2018 - Thought this surprisingly enjoyable, especially in light of the one rating of 80. If 80 is a good score for this reviewer, I can offer no comment. If 80 represents sub-par, I must take issue.

The wine offers pleasant fruit over a mineral base, appropriate tannic structure, and a tartness that does not distract. No toast or oak apparent, which keeps the experience more pure. A medium to light bodied wine, but not thin. There is a slight chlorine component buried in the minerality, but it burns off as it opens, simultaneously the tannins expand. Allow it 45+ mins in air prior to serving.

    Would I purchase again? Absolutely.

July 12, 2018 - Grainy, jamy. Better with cheese!
