February 5, 2023 - Houston Wine Merchant purchase. Delivering at value but not my favorite by any means in the price range $55-$70.
Maybe I just favor the Bdb more... Preferred the Cramant Bdb or Chartogne Taillot St. Anne Cuvee over the Mousse Fils.
January 1, 2020 - Good bubbles, light structure, crisp.
December 31, 2019 - In the glass this had controlled, yet lively bubbles that work their way up to the surface of this pale gold wine.
In the nose, you are hit with a the smell of crisp green apples - like the smell of them just being cut. This plays in front of honey, honeydew, and a saline smell that actually made us think of a wet slate walkway after a summer rain - I swear I’m not trying to be poetic.
TL;DR? It smells outstanding.
On the palate it is crisp, and calls back those green apple, honey, and mineral notes. A longish, pleasant finish makes this thoroughly drinkable.
An excellent NV champagne.
12% ABV - disgorged 01/23/2019
May 25, 2019 - Small taste, creamy, smooth with lots of citrus notes.
April 19, 2019 - Light golden, crisp, clean, citrus, and nice depth. Excellent QPR. Not Bollinger but these have all been good bubbles.
May 5, 2018 - Very interesting BdN Solera, but didn't excite me much. Prefered the Mousse BdB I had previously. Effervescence Grand Tasting.
April 5, 2018 - Slightly more golden than the average champagne. Much less carbonated and “mousseux” than the average champagne. Nose: butter croissant, green apple, quince. Palate: good body, breadiness, lemony quince toast. Not particularly complex, short finish. Overall okay but not great.
February 19, 2018 - Unit D's SCHOOL OF SELOSSE Champagne Tasting (Shady Acres. Houston, TX): Group Note - Unit D's School of Selosse Champagne tasting
NV
A: Pale-Medium Gold
N: Ripe Apple, pear, strawberry, caramel, brioche. Developing
P: Aroma is confirmed. Extra lime on palate. Medium-medium (+) body, dry, medium alcohol medium intensity, medium finish.
C: 80% P.meunier and 20% P.noir. 8g/l dosage and disgroged on 19th of April 2017.
It was a very good quality wine but for me tasted a touch sweeter than i like.
Its Solera made and at $45 its not an expensive novelty. Certainly has the oxidative notes. For me, i shan't buy it again unless i have to for a tasting class.
