March 26, 2020 - Very light and delicate on the nose, yet with deep and beautiful flavors of wild strawberries, cherries, raspberries, and savory herbs. Medium acidity with more strawberry, red berry, and a hint of blood orange on the palate. Nice finish. Excellent, lighter style Beaujolais with finesse and depth. I’m a big fan of Balagny’s wines and this one’s no exception, but the price is creeping up too much these days...

March 5, 2020 - This is good but a bit overpriced and overhyped.

September 12, 2019 - Open for action. Lovely nose, cherry and the fresh fruit of beaujolais, lingering right up till the end. Tried the benchmark Foillard Cote de py 2017 the night after, and found it way of in comparrison. Perhaps unfair comparring as the Foillard is not ready to go, but confirming the quality of the Balagny. Had one bottle last year, and this one was superior, more pronounced. Congrats Julie!

August 14, 2019 - Much better this time. Pale garnet, close to brick red. The nose shows fair development with multi-faceted aromas of forest berries, old strawberry cordial, cinnamon stick and grape stems, herbs and salmiak liquorice, moss and undergrowth. On the palate the sweetish fruit is offset by ripe acidity, a silky smooth mouthfeel, hour-glass tannins, some tingling salty mineral sensations and a nice herbaceous twist to keep things straight, alcohol being perfectly balanced at 12,5. Julie Balagny's wines often have a shorter maturity curve than other cru beaujolais, and her '16s so far have been notably precocious, so there's probably nothing to gain by further cellaring. Drink soon and be happy. (Disclaimer: ITB with Swedish importer Vin & Natur)
