September 12, 2009 - Once again from the black synthetic stopper, my last one. Once again the wine is beautifully colored with a burgundy-to-purple core. Once again, the nose is of raisins. However, pleasantly after 15 minutes, the degree of raisin falls off and currants, black cherry and red fruit pits all come through. The wine shows good depth and some complexity, but the raisined element never is too far in the background. 14.9% alc. With BBQ (pork) ribs and venison tenderloin. Recommended with reservations.
