  March 27, 2021 - A Memorable Saturday (Various Spots in the Santa Ynez Valley): Another birth-year wine for the birthday boy, also from a magnum. This was even better than my first. The bottle was utterly pristine, as was the cork. There was a purity and freshness to the wine, and I love the slightly green aspect of the fruit notes, truly old school Margaux. Additionally featured pepper and tobacco leaf, but the clean texture and purity of the wine are what really stood out.

  August 14, 2020 - From a magnum. A joy to drink, not the most memorable or pedigreed of Bordeaux, of course, but then again I paid $50 each all-in at auction for two mags with great fills and pristine labels, figuring it was worth a shot. The payoff was evident as soon as I removed the cork, which came out easily and fully intact. The wine was fresh, gentle, somewhat green, and totally "correct" for a Cab driven Margaux from this era. Additional notes of pepper and tobacco leaf. I really loved it, and it held well for six hours. What a find!
