March 14, 2024 - Gaining weight, nice balance between acid, citrus fruit and tertiary notes
February 11, 2024 - See previous note. In a state between ripe and fresh, stil needs time unleash. Outstanding 93p
February 1, 2024 - Pale, lemon appearance. Medium + intensity nose of apple. lemon, lemon zest, pear, wet stones, sour cream. High acid, medium body, ripe fruit. Long finish with flint and crushed rock coming through with great purity.
October 5, 2023 - Nice nose of lemon peel, lemon curd, floral and fresh. Palate has a punching acidity, but a soft harmonious mouthfeel. Finish rewards with a hint of honey sweetness.
Enjoyed this over the course of three days and while it remained stable, it didn't gain any finesse.
July 28, 2023 - Lemon, steel, white flowers, orchard fruit, almond - nose is enough to make me salivate. On the palate, quite fruit forward with apples & pear then transitions into crushed rock. Finishes with a hit of high acidity but still a touch of residual sweetness on the tongue. I don't think this is a great Felsenberg. It's a relatively more open & approachable version does but still retain the classic, austere nature.
July 8, 2023 - Petro, bakt sitron, fyldig, lang, litt eple.
April 4, 2023 - Fyldig og lang, sitron, eple, mangler litt kompleksitet.
January 20, 2023 - Pale yellow. Pronounced on the nose with aromas of honeysuckle, lemon, lemon curd, almond cream, petrol, honey, cinnamon, toast. Developing.
Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium plus intensity with flavours lemon curd, honey, hay. Flinty. Long finish.
The wine is outstanding. It is balance, complex, intense with a long finishing. Drink now with further aging potential.
December 26, 2021 - Lovely poise, very austere with a ton of acidity. Distinctive aromas of nuts, and a sour citrus palate. Rich and powerful. Very nice.
November 25, 2021 - Flinty and acidic. Expected to be more rounder based on previous consumption of Donnhoff GG. Must have been the vintage. I think this can sit for another 5 years.
