October 29, 2023 - Ditto previous notes from 2/19/23. Last bottle. Will probably grow from here, but oh well!. Addendum: On Day three, this wine is still going strong! One glass left, with no oxidization, and stored at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Hold this wine if you expect to live a few more years. Will do well in a good cellar.

August 4, 2023 - Finally the heavy tannins are gone, the wine is drinkable now, color dark, nose is not open yet delicious though, the taste is not like those Sangiovese Lovers want, spicebox or pharmarcy shop, a straight level of seduction.

March 26, 2023 - Very enjoyable, with a long finish. Much bigger bodied than I was expecting. I think it has years of life ahead of it. While we really enjoyed it, we may have drunk it a little young!

February 19, 2023 - This wine continues to improve. Where will it go from here? I have one more bottle. Tannin has resolved and fruit and acidity remain. Popped and poured, this was a fabulous accompaniment to tonight's Lasagne. Great now, but will improve!

October 27, 2022 - Splash decanted and served immediately; enjoyed over the next four hours. On the nose, it smells like 2015…gorgeous and giving with fresh, ripe cherry, dry earth and green herbs. The bouquet opened up over time and just seemed to gain power and intensity adding blood orange and red flowers. On the palate, this is bone-dry with silky texture and huge structure which also seemed to go from strength to strength. The finish is long and ever so satisfying. Drink now with a lot of patience or enjoy through 2040.

August 27, 2022 - Who knew Sangiovese from Chianti Classico could reach such a level?
At around 400m in altitude LPT is made from the first vines planted in Montevertine by the legendary Martino in 1968 but first harvested in 1977. Unfiltered and organic. Aged for 1yr in Allier barriques and for 1yr in Slavonian oak barrels.
Nose is of an older Sangiovese. Refined and supple leather, deep mellow red cherry, balsamic and sweet cedar. Palate is much juicier, especially after decanting.

July 12, 2022 - The dilemma of drinking wine like this when it is young. It simply doesn't justify the price tag. It tastes like a fine Sangiovese around $50. Not much to say...Looking forward to revisiting it 10 years down the road.

June 13, 2022 - Still on the young side, but very approachable now. Tannins are resolving, leaving acidity and fruit to enjoy. Well balanced wine that lives up to high expectations.

February 12, 2022 - Opened in the bottle for less than an hour and it was surprisingly accessible. Ripe cherry, cedar, tobacco and some dusty earth. Slight rustic edge but otherwise polished. Obviously no rush here as there’s only upside with time. These are a giant step up from the regular Toscana bottling (which I really like).
