November 25, 2022 - Part of the line up for Thanksgiving dinner. Savory, creamy, with tart apple at the end. Excellent complement to cheese course. As with most of the Laherte offerings, beautiful balance.

July 4, 2022 - First experience with this producer so no way to provide reference, but this wine seemed perfectly fine but not memorable nor worth the tariff. The bubbles faded quickly, there was not much grip to the palate, nor particular complexity.

May 26, 2022 - Similar to previous note but much more mellow and slightly pinker in the glass - it has matured quite rapidly- now in its prime. drinking very well.

Perfumed, elegant with a lovely bitter sweet lemon bouquet, with a bit of background complexity and sherry/apple vinegar notes.

A medium mouth weight and gentle bubble adds to the overall effect.

Given how rapidly this has progressed I would drink now - v nice - glad to have a couple more bottles

October 11, 2021 - True to the grape but fruitier than hoped for with rich red apple skin and sweet potato (yam) flavors and less persistent bubbles. Shouldn't have waited.

April 3, 2021 - White gold in the glass. Plenty of bubbles. Quite vigorous - medium bead.

On the nose lemon sherbet, baked apples, a little sherry vinegar, hazel-nuts, jasmine and white flowers.

Nice mouth-wieght, some bubble spike, yeasts and red fruits. Still firm tannins on the finish needs a bit more time.

Give it a couple of years.

We hadn’t drunk Laherte's meunier in a really long time, at least a couple of years, maybe because we hadn’t found a bottle with some age; we enjoy Laherte much more after a couple of years of cellaring. This 2013 was surprisingly floral with lots of jasmine, orange blossom and violets; lots of exotic fruit such as pineapple, banana, guava, coconut; very fresh green apples (and not very ripe ones as is usually the case with Vallée de la Marne meunier) and some red fruit touches; black pepper, vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom; some mushrooms and metallic notes, a hint of curry; with some air it developed aromas of white chocolate, sarsaparilla and caramel; roasted nuts led to a slightly oxidative finish with a Sherry-like resemblance.
Very dense and concentrated texture; the acidity was remarkably high, but very balanced with the density of the wine. Lovely at the moment but we think it will be even better in a couple of years.

February 5, 2021 - Coming into a nice drinking window now. Starts out with some decent oomph and gains more finesse with air. Drink or hold. I'll likely be doing more of the former with my remaining bottles.

January 22, 2021 - Laherte has created a very nice Pinot Meunier driven bottle. Nose is bruised apples, pears, freshly cut white paving stones (smelled this on the street when walking past some workmen a few weeks ago).

Palate follows with lemon zest and charred lemon on palate, lime, a continuous toasty note that is hard to place exactly, but there is no doubt of the Lees driven note.

Favourite part about this was the toasted quality to the fruit, but I spent time wondering if I would know this is Meunier blind. My guess is this is an expression of the 2013 vintage more than anything else.

Good but keep a bit longer so acidity and citrus notes soften up a bit.
