April 13, 2007 - Philly Pre-Game Champagne and Bordeaux Dinner (Marigold Restaurant, Philadelphia, PA): Golden yellow colour. Pretty nose of caramel, dried white flowers, jasmine, apple chips, and all kinds of nuts - walnut and hazelnut butter. Full bodied, not much fizz left, but focused replays from nose and a touch of sherry. Long, 50+s finish. Great stuff.

April 13, 2007 - Champagne & Bordeaux Offline (Marigold in Philadelphia, PA): WIMLNR,NOWA,NOWS

Tasted April 13, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Dark yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of toasted carmel and sherry. Flavors of pear, ginger and yellow apple. Light acidity and light to medium body. No mousse. Drink now. Not rated because Rhone Warrior said it was decidedly not performing as well as the previous bottle.

April 13, 2007 - Honeyed almond and orange peel. Clear old-Champagne character and some sherry notes. Somewhat heavy. Creamy texture. Mousse quickly fades which doesn't do the wine any favors. Enjoyable, but not at the level of the last bottle.

December 18, 2006 - Peter Luger Steak Dinner: Nice pop and definite zing to this wine. Very fresh and taut. Lemony brioche notes, some saline and a soft cream. Suprisingly graceful and with no hint of sherry. Delicious.

December 18, 2006 - An interesting assortment with Luger's steaks (Columbus, OH): Cork still comes out with a pop and a surprisingly youthful color. Very clean, honey-laden nose of sweet rolls and orange peel. Great acidity and balance with a well integrated mousse. Drinks really well over several hours and develops a great cherries & cream character. Not the depth or complexity to ever be consider a great wine, but amazingly well preserved and vibrant.
