November 3, 2017 - Wirkt nicht so präzise wie der Chevalier in diesem Flight, breitschultriger und nicht so gut struktriert. 92

October 21, 2017 - Intense nose with high mineral profile, grapefruit, sage, white blossom, olive juice? theres a salinity just putting you in a place of awe. The pure concentration of fruit is epic and balanced by its inherit backbone acidity that just molds into a creamy long mineral finish. This is outstanding. No need to rush but I see no reason to wait either.

October 7, 2017 - When I read Wineforth's review I thought: perhaps I also have oaky acacia. After reading Roboto's review I think: s..t, cork! My bottle tasted nowhere like what Roboto describes. There was something awfully close to cork in there. Strangely enough did not get worse with time. Got less with swirling sometimes. Some sips even yummy. But this wet cardboard smell kept creeping back in. I am betting on cork, there is no way that this wine is meant to taste like that. And am completely disappointed, was so looking forward to this one. No rating therefore.

October 7, 2017 - Always afraid when opening the Charlemagnes from this producer, I have had so many pre-oxidized examples. This is just perfect, having reached a perfect plateau of maturity. Aromas of lime, citrus, nuts and minerals with hints of oil and dry wood. Full bodied, high acidity, lots of sweet citrus, minerals, oil and nuts. Incredibly long aftertaste. Extremely young for a 12 year old wine.

(Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne) Very pale. Well-integrated oak notes and plenty of depth on the clean nose. Soft, concentrated and with lovely depth. There are no fireworks but tons of restrained interest. Worth the price of entry…
