Community Tasting Notes 12

December 9, 2021 - This wine is difficult to give a proper tasting note. My first experience with a "Col Fondo" Prosecco

One in the group described it as "wild" and I feel that is the best description possible. When first opened it was aggressive, sour, very aromatic and, well wild. After being open for 15-20 minutes it calmed down a good amount, but this is not for everyone. Has a slight beer or hard cider feel to it. We had this with Garlic Herb Escargot and it actually worked very well. Almost a salty lemon taste to the wine cut through the fatty buttery snails perfectly.

One of the other tasters said it reminded them of a Sparkling Chenin, and I can see that, especially if is a funky Chenin.

April 1, 2019 - Again, this is not your Aunt Marie's Prosecco, of sugary mantle and spineless structure. This is a different horse, towards au naturale and very genuinely Glera (granted, in my limited experience with the variety). Would be a great blind ringer amongst geeks, not so much with the masses. 4+10+16+8= 88

February 9, 2019 - Light straw-yellow color with a slight haze and a very sparse but steady mousse. Medium intensity bouquet featuring citrus, kiwi, peach, and wet concrete/silica. A light body with a very gentle entry to the mouth and a good dose of malo to make it a little creamy. Seems like it is very low abv which is nice, and interestingly, very low sugar. Certainly not your typical Prosecco and reminds me more of a dry sparkling Chenin. Short to medium finish with crisp and clean character. 4+12+15+7= 88
