August 26, 2020 - 30 minute decant. This has great fruit and rich earth. The profile is very friendly, the tannins are elegant. I'd like to see where this goes in the next 9 years.
August 23, 2020 - Wish I bought more. Smooth, with a good nose and pleasing fruit, graphite, acid, and tannin balance. Finish is medium. I bought it through WTSO for $40, and a solid QPR. It satisfied a couple of my oenophile friends.
July 26, 2020 - Big and bold, bright cherry, plum and blueberry, along with cedar, hints of cocoa and earth tones. Strong tannins mellow after decanting. Silky, smoky, anise-tinged finish. Decanted 2 hours. Phenomenal wine.
June 19, 2020 - Wow, I PnP’d this just make sure it was OK and it was excellent from the friggin’ get-go. I can tell already I wish I’d bought more! 91 Points and an Superb QPR for the price I paid!
From the very beginning, a nice taste of oak and vanilla. Deep, dark fruit. Deep and powerful, but a very nice balance, structure, texture and mouthfeel. While a BDX, this is very CS-like, which is just fine by me!
I can’t see how this won’t get better with a hour or two in the decanter (IF I can hold off that long!!!). And of course, in complete fairness, I am also a very big fan of Mondavi’s Oakville CS as well. 😃
February 24, 2020 - Decanted for two hours. Expressive nose of soft oak. On entry, this Bordeaux blend is rich and balanced with lovely vanilla and mineral notes. The finish is lasting and spice-infused. Overall, a beautiful Cali blend. Good QPR at $37. Recommended for Napa cab lovers.
October 7, 2019 - revisited; fading a bit, but to be expected... look forward to seeing what age will do to this one; still excellent, but a bit below the 2014 Stag's Leap
August 24, 2019 - Very similar to Bordeaux. Pencil lead.
March 24, 2019 - Tight and tannic. Better with food. One hour decant. Needs to lay down.
March 15, 2019 - Graphite; pencil lead; grape popsicle; wood; winery; very well made wine.
December 13, 2018 - Coravin: graphite; raspberry; wood; winery; very well made wine.
