June 11, 2022 - Jim's Retirement Party (Libertyville, IL): I recall adoring this wine when last tasted (20 years ago?), but tonight's was the rare tired bottle of López de Heredia.

April 28, 2021 - This was my last of four 1968's that I had over previous 10 years. This bottle also traveled a bit more than it probably should have. Yet, it was a pleasure to drink, with a delicate and distinct perfume well sustained through the evening. The bottle, as distinct from the previous three, was a little past its prime. The aftertaste did not last at all, and the colors are now on the wrong side of rusty.

May 26, 2018 - Fiftieth Birthday Dinner with 1968 Riojas and Other Treats (San Francisco): Pale with browning. Stalky, peppery nose. Dry, earthy, curious flavors of celery. Flawed or just old and dried out? No matter, not a pleasant drink.

October 14, 2017 - Uncles Fine Wine Club’s - Spontaneous wine tasting event at Tords: An ocean of tertiary aromas. Over the top but still fun. I’ve had an Ygay from the same vintage which was in a lot neater shape.

November 14, 2015 - Vinen hadde mistet nesten all farge og fremsto mer som en rosevin på farge. Aroma av svært gammel Madeira og overmoden frukt. Etter noen timer i glasset kommer det røyk treverk og skogbunn.
