    October 21, 2023 - Deep Purple

    Medium (+) Acidity
    Medium (+) Tannin
    High Alcohol
    Full Bodied
    Long Finish

    Medium (+) Intensity
    - Creme de Casis, Blackberry, Blueberry, Black Cherry, Black Plum, Red Plum, Vanilla, Liquorice, Coffee, Chocolate, Mint, Tobacco.

Ripe, sweet, jammy black fruits, sweet spice and oak, with some herbaceousness and smokiness, grippy but well-integrated tannins, balanced with mouth watering acidity. A superb example of Chilean Carménère, complex, intense, balanced, with good length. Drink or hold.

July 4, 2023 - The nose on this wine was delectable. Pungent notes of fresh blackberries, cassis, pepper, loam and some floral overtones. Full, rich palate with juicy dark fruit and mouthwatering acidity. Excellent length. A fun wine made in a very crowd-pleasing style, but there is no denying the quality of fruit and winemaking here. I loved it.

June 2, 2023 - Popped and poured. Big fruit upon initial opening, but mellowed out after 30 minutes to become more balanced. Nice mouthfeel and finish. Still plenty of life left.

April 28, 2023 - Just really not sure about this wine. Just seems all disjointed. Really no better on Day #2 or 3

April 8, 2023 - Very good, it’s expensive and initially just tastes of expensive oak but give it time in the decanter and it is really good.

Deep purple colour, still some tannins. Dark fruit, still some oak but again with time feels more integrated

March 28, 2023 - Extracted, concentrated, and very big. More stewed notes than something like a Napa cab would have but similar profile in terms of style. Really needs steak to stand up to it and probably could use more air or time in bottle to be in a position where I really enjoy it. It’s interesting just not my favorite style.

February 18, 2023 - Drank earlier than planned because the cork was a bit swollen and protruding. Ready to go with 1 hour decant.

February 17, 2023 - starting a big wine weekend. not sure why I bought these years back, but...

new oak, high alcohol, ripe, very low acid, and dark purple.

given its style, it's quite nice. wears alcohol well and avoids any sense of over-extraction. firm tannin is present but mostly softened out of the youthful stage=drinking pleasantly on pnp.

the fruit isn't heavily stewed or pruney, there's even a smidge of red fruit in there, but overall there is a glossy plummy fruit with a nagging/slight sense of PX sherry

the Chilean tomatoey/pyrazine adds savory intrigue preventing a boring glass.

December 8, 2022 - Pop and pour. Big and bombastic, but still very thoughtfully put together. Juicy blue fruit, smoke, and black pepper with some inklings of chocolate and coffee. Non-obtrusive pyrazine quality ie bell pepper, served as nice contrast. Tannins have begun to soften, a good deal of sediment thrown. Not quite a bruiser, but it'll bully your palate a bit by the end of the bottle.

Still just an infant, undeniably delicious and really delivers on the hedonism front.
