  June 6, 2020 - Compared to the 2012: fruit is milder, darker, and more purple than red. Earthier, with stronger herb and spice notes. Acidity is about the same, but tannin seems to be higher. Both are great, but I do prefer the '12 for having more balance and finesse, and for staying true to its name. This one, with its higher tannins, is more like its eclectic offspring than the laid back style for which francs are known for.

  January 12, 2020 - Strong earthy nose that gives way to blue fruits with a nice mouth feel. Decent length finish brings it together.

  December 19, 2019 - Classic, if not over the top Franc nose with good structure and mouth feel. Not a lot of fruit up front, but mid pallet does have a rich earthiness with a medium length finish. Good mid week pour.
