August 21, 2021 - Purple fades to a rosy rim; variation consistent with age. Medium legs. Aromas are red fruit forward:cranberry, raspberry, sour cherry, black cherry. Also there are a bit of vanilla, light toast and just a hint of clove. Medium body, smooth and polished texture. Medium + finish, medium + acidity. Impression: drinking at or near peak, very smooth. Settled nicely. The acidity, as I often note, provides staying power. Wine good over 4-5 days, which is impressive. At $34 with tax & shipping, QPR clearly below average. Price can't compete quite a few Chiantis and Chianti Classicos. Still, a nice splurge and I don't regret having another bottle to enjoy in a year or two. Drink now or by 2023.
