August 8, 2023 - PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium yellow. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of bee's wax, honey, green apple, acacia, and lime. Palate: Clean, medium+ acid, full body with an unctuous mouth-feel with some residual sugar, medium intensity, 8.5% abv with flavors of honey, green apple, and lime and a medium+ finish.
Balance: Excellent
Length: Excellent
Intensity: Very good
Complexity: Very good
Overall, a pretty nice Cali Reisling in a Spatlese format. Drinking well today upon opening, as others have noted the acidity is lower than your typical German Riesling, however I believe this still has a 3+ year drinking window. -

February 7, 2022 - These RS Rieslings are not usually in my wheelhouse and indeed, this seemed too sweet and a little cloying - not enough acidity to balance it out. Pretty strong petrol note on the nose as well, which I don't particularly enjoy. It was okay and I drank a couple of glasses with dinner, so it was drinkable. My German MIL who has been visiting us for 7+ weeks did find the name of the wine amusing, though, so it was worth it just for that!

April 18, 2020 - Sweet peach nectar and quince with significant residual sugar that coats the palate. As it warms up and get extended air, the lurking acidity becomes more detectable, offering some balance. Nice effort.
