March 29, 2024 - Stored in cold cellar since release. Cork broke. High fill. Good condition.
Blackcurrant leather bouquet. Black fruit leather spice. Some tannin left.
Good balance sufficient length. Just a touch rustic. Some time in hand but seems no point to keep.

    October 27, 2023 - From magnum. Decanted 6 hours.

A “textbook” well made Médoc. The nose and the colour suggested it was still on the early side of its plateau. Obviously due to it being in 1.5L.

A little barnyard funk, classic aged left bank on the nose.

On the palate, a good amount of berry fruit, spice and a little bit of tobacco. Medium finish.

A very, very nice all-round Médoc. A joy to drink a 28 year old very good wine, but the 1996 vintage of this wine is a little better!

October 8, 2023 - Great wine at the peak of maturity, a complete package. Far exceeded my expectations

February 22, 2023 - Très beau nez typé. Bouche très correcte mais un past peak..

January 18, 2023 - Coravin fun - Ch. de Beaucastel (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Raspberry, brambles, sweet spice, forest floor, leather, a little cigar box, smidge of cigar box and cedar on the nose and a little dusty spice note. On the palate it's juicy and fleshy with savoury red and black fruits - a little more curranty here - and a touch of bitterness to the slightly hard, leathery tannins, the fruit persists though with a little rocky minerality on the finish. Pleasing.
