August 21, 2019 - Took almost 3 hours open to come around. Once it did some great (though still rustic) red fruit emerged. Very well crafted wine but just not a juicy crowd pleaser.

July 16, 2019 - Pinot in the City (Chicago, IL): Walk-around tasting, brief note. Complex array of red and blue fruits with a spicebox that seems to imply whole cluster, but so much more. Bright and elegant textures give this a charming, weightless finish with very good length. Seems so approachable now, but I think there is so much in reserve that I will want to revisit in 3-5+ years. 91+ point potential.

July 4, 2019 - It was appropriate to drink this beautiful American wine on Independence Day. Purple in color. Nose of rose petal, Chambord, fresh herbs, fresh shellfish like raw oyster or even ocean water, and a hint of body odor. Raspberry. Strawberry... and spring salad with strawberry and herbs. Creme brûlée. Lots of minerals. Tangy yet dry finish, with a touch of salt. Strong, but complex and elegant. Impressively balanced and flavorful. Leaning toward revising to 95. The first night I drank this with a gourmet burger. The second night I drank this as a nightcap. It is versatile, but I should try this with aged balsamic, burrata, foie gras, or even just spring salad with strawberry and herbs as described in the favor profile. Antica Terra is the house Pinot Noir, although still reserved mainly for special occasions. I think that this is underrated in CT.

May 17, 2019 - Willamette Valley May 2019; 5/17/2019-5/18/2019: Gorgeous color. Nose of roses, earth, and seashell. Palate to match. Lovely. Nicer than the last time I tasted it. Bit more bottle age? Setting (lovely tasting area, with candles)?

April 30, 2019 - Previously tried from bottle just over six months ago and this wine has already started to come together nicely. Mixture of black and red cherry on the nose along with earth and floral notes. Medium bodied with structured blackfruit (especially black cherry) upfront. Rounds out through the middle as it adds red cherry and red berry notes. Mid-body showed more depth the longer it was open, but did feel noticeably more accessible than my bottle from six months ago. The mid-body showed more and more nuances, especially towards the backside as the wine opened up and took on the silky elegance that's a consistent theme with Antica Terra wines. Backside shows lightly tart acidity and fine grained tannins that are integrating nicely, settling up solid length on the finish. Overall, I would say this wine is coming around more quickly than I first anticipated, but it's still important to have this wine open for at least two hours ahead of time, otherwise, the wine will show as pretty and very drinkable, but you will loose a lot of the complexity through the middle and on the backside that this wine is starting to show. I will probably open the first of my own bottles in June 2020.
