June 8, 2019 - Very different than other vintages on this. Even more wine centric with kitsch and a slight metallic depth. Lovely and complex. A bit less acidic than usual. Rich and a weird complex fractal linearity. I realize these notes are a bit conflicted but this was a fantastic rendition of this wine that was wonderful with rich and spiced Moroccan food.

May 12, 2019 - I am a big fan of Bouchard and love wines from the Aube, but this is my first of the Cote de Bechalin. Wow! We had this with fried chicken and it was singing. Great crisp notes of yeast and fruit with depth and clarity. Simply magnificent .

May 11, 2019 - As before, I really find this wine to be a beguiling example of Pinot Noir Champagne. Focused and deliberate while also complex and just a tad funky (as is Cedric’s signature), with saline meets woodsy meets chalky meets limestone meets kirschwasser types of flavors all swirling around. A step up from the Val Vilaine, with the Bechalin honing-in on the mid-palate drop with an elevated weight and purpose. Finishes with a continuing array of stemmy black cherry and ocean rock notes. If you’re into uber-bright, lemony, buttered popcorn type of bubblies, then best clear your mind of all things Cedric Bouchard. Otherwise, this is a very fine example in the sea of “Grower’s Champagne” boutique types of sparklers popping out of the region. Drink now with at least an hour decant (and BDX stems – as I do with all of Cedric’s wines), or hold with confidence for years to come. 96+ for my palate.

March 23, 2019 - Utterly magnificent. Deconstructing this down to this or that aroma or taste is a disservice. It is perfectly balanced, wonderfully refreshing, texturally alluring and simply fantastic. I am just astounded at Bouchard's wines.

March 18, 2019 - Cederic Bouchard tasting with add-ons. (LystPå resturant Bodø): Big nose. Significantly different from 2011. More and rounder fruit. Umami. Sweet spice. Red apple peel. Crisp and floral notes. With added air honey and candied fruit reveals itself. Fruity appearance.
