Community Tasting Notes 8

August 29, 2021 - I didn't really like this. Tasted a bit like smoky bacon and was thin when consumed, perhaps a bit past its best

March 1, 2021 - {screwcap, 13.9%} Brickish, orange touch. Quite translucent in a Pinot way. Composty strawberries and mushrooms, gentle oak. Developing, quite advanced actually, to the point where I wonder about warm storage. Gently maturing palate, with low dusty tannins, medium acidity, quite tart, almost sharp. Refreshing but not complex, the palate capturing the voluptuous, fumey character of new world Pinot. Medium bodied, with a dry, tangy and spicy, if slightly patchy, short/medium length finish. Tending to warm as well, especially after the second glass. If this was properly stored, it’s marginal value at the near-$50 it sells for.

November 13, 2019 - This is mostly, 115, MV6 and 114 clone from lower cropping vines on the estate. Open ferment, about 1/3 whole bunch

Colour med density translucent ruby slight bricking on the edges 15/15
Nose med intensity , strawberry fruit , red cherry plum , savory ,mushroom forest floor spicy , good complexity 28/30
Palate med bodied, lovely fruit classic Tassie flavours of strawberry , plum , cherry , savory , good mouthfeel , long finish , fine grain tannins 42/44
Overall I’ve heard of this Producer but never tried it , very enjoyable hard to fault , look forward to trying more Josef Chromy wines 10/11
