September 13, 2022 - The colour bears faint hints of ageing. The nose is very earthy, with some oak and a more undefined red fruit. Light and elegant in the mouth, but somewhat lacking in stuffing and follow-through. Decent wine, and I hope some more age may give it body. However, I fear it may be a bit too old already.

Medium taste of ripe raspberry, red cherry, red currant, forest floor, thyme, mushrooms and black pepper. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Mercurey Premier Cru that has matured well. Needed an hour to open. Drink now or over the next years. Goes well with duck, mushrooms, pork or veal.

May 13, 2019 - Big fan of this premier cru, the Clos Tonnerre is full of wild strawberries, warm ripe fruit, fresh herbs, there is tension on the palate yet the finish is elegant! Impressed!

April 3, 2018 - A great value in Burgundy. Has some really nice cherry and floral notes on the nose with dark and deep flavors on its palate. While there is some density on the palate that is less attractive to me, its flavors are true and seemingly pure. Michel Juillot's wines are routinely overlooked, but there are some very nice surprises.
