March 16, 2020 - Fascinating wine. Fresh but focused. Bay leaf and minerals with some sour cherries. Very food friendly. Grows on you.

November 23, 2019 - This was my first exposure to the Nero d'Avola grape from Sicily. I come to find out that this grape I never heard of is the most important red wine grape in Sicily and is one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties.

This @feudidelpisciottowinerelais is deep ruby red in color with an intense fruity nose of ripe blueberry, black cherry and pomegranate, with a hint of spice.

This full bodied wine is well structured with medium+ acidity and grippy tannins. On the first day, it came across as very fruit forward with flavors of blueberry, black cherry & plum. The next day as the wine opened up the fruit flavors gave me the impression of being stewed...think of raisins or prunes. The wine finish lingered with hints of tabacco & licorice.

    September 7, 2019 - Deep ruby

Nose: Explosive dried cherry, accented by vanilla extract, brown sugar tobacco, and violet flower.

Mouth: Black cherry and red current stream through ahead of a melange of licorice, baking spice and easy tannin supporting the front stage fruit. A hearty acid gives solid cut to the body and leaves a floral, chalky finish that rings on and on.

Overall: Juicy and still penetrating, this has a one track mind: weaving spicy, oaky threads around a core of black cherry and red fruits before a finish that won't quit. QPR isn't even a question here, punches above its weight. Fabulous now, a few more years likely wouldn't hurt either. 100% Nero d'Avola
