January 28, 2024 - Bottle taken from the list of a restaurant that alternates between the crazy and the downright bad.

Very spicy nose of black fruits

Mouth with notable extraction but the whole remains coherent. The juice expresses itself well, always with a dominance of spices and black fruits with a meaty touch. This wine calls for game! The touch is nice with a nice grain. Nice balance. Lightly roasted finish with a decent length.

Very good Village, even if it's not the style I prefer, it's still quite manly but very well done.

April 4, 2021 - a well balanced pino. Alcohol level was low so it was refreshing

February 11, 2020 - Barrel Tasting at Sylvie Esmonin with Sylvie (Gevrey Chambertin - Clos St Jacques): PnP bottle. More red fruited, more juicy and less overt than the 2018 line up. Plenty of cherry in the red and black spectrum, good meat and spice throughout. Refined presence with still grippy, firm tannin. Needs 5+ years in the cellar to open up. 92+

February 11, 2020 - Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): I think I prefer the purity and relatively lightness of the 2016 vintage to the 2018; this is a more elegant and mineral driven version of the wine, with the fruit profile more red and just a little more juicy acidity here. Drinking very well now, but this clearly has the stuffing to age.

November 16, 2017 - Annual Roi Chambertin tasting: 2016 Gevreys from village to grand cru (Espace Chambertin, Bourgogne): By comparison, tasted just after the Chevalier, this wine comes across just a bit warm. I think I preferred the 2015, if I recall correctly. It is good, mind you, but something about it seems a bit too hefty, at least to me.
