April 21, 2024 - Almost 100% Grenache with a few ppm Cinsault and Clairette. This is Grenache at its best, voluptuous and fully ripe with an unusually deep, young cherry-red color, a complex bouquet wih beefstock, cherries, blackberries and a lot of other red and black fruits, followed by a full, lush taste with the sweetness of ideally ripe fruits, ripe tannin, an excellent acidity, characteristic for this great vintage, and a long finish. This is exactly my type of wine which is already irresistible right now, but will certainly last for more than 5 years while even gaining more complexity.
At 36,50€ (in 2018) on the domain this is fantastic QPR!
April 8, 2024 - Drank with Oz and EM at The Greens. No decant, though could've used it. Big, full-bodied, and juicy. Very much on the sweet red cherry side of spectrum both on nose and palate. Some spice, nice long finish. Modern style. Needs some bottle age IMO.
January 28, 2024 - PnP. First glass I thought someone had put a teaspoon of sugar in it. It was so sweet. This dissipated over an hour or so to reveal a very polished CdP. Cherries, raspberries on the nose with a touch of volatility. The palate was full bodied, rich, silky, pure with an herbal/eucalyptus note along with the red fruits. Finish was bright with some grip, tannins mostly resolved. It hid its 15.5% alcohol well, but always came across a tad too sweet for me.
November 22, 2023 - A CdP of obvious quality that's drinkable now, but not at its full potential. Every few sips, I caught a cough syrup note that I think will disappear with age. No rating from me yet; waiting 3 years to open the next bottle.
October 28, 2023 - 향이 참 아름답다. 깊에 들이쉬면 포도줄기의 향이 살짝 느껴지는듯 하고 입안에서 과실미가 너무 좋음. 산도, 탄닌이 아주 적절하고 피니쉬도 길지는 않지만 여운을 남겨준다.
September 24, 2023 - Another bottle, better than the 2020 bottle... maybe it just needed a bit more time. This one was bigger and full, quite nice and good with pizza.
August 3, 2023 - Lovely red fruit and herb notes. Hints of spice. Excellent and of course a terrific match for grilled lamb tenderloin.
September 9, 2022 - Bottle decant 5 hours. Has really settled down over the past two years. Perfectly ripe red berries on the nose lead to a medium to full bodied mouth feel. Well balanced, great alone or with food.
August 28, 2022 - Wonderfully smooth CdP. This is a fantastic specimen of what makes CdP so great. Beautiful nose of raspberry, cherry and violets. Silky mouthfeel. Amazingly finely grained tannins. Despite the silkiness, this is such a powerful pure-fruited Grenache from 60 year old vines driving a lingering taste. First bottle I opened and a year earlier than I initially planned, but the wine is in a great drinking window. Luxurious feeling of genuine quality. What a joy. Enjoyed with friends - the best thing to do with this wine.
